Recently, the stylist for ‘Canada’s Next Top Model’ pulled from Vintagecouture.com for an upcoming episode. The clothes are featured in the 5th episode for the photo shoot with an LG phone and for the judging scene at the end. Finalists Nikita and Heather both wore clothing from Vintagecouture.com, the first in a vintage Valentino tiger print bustier and skirt and the second in a Bill Blass cream cocktail dress with black tulle halter overlay. In the judging scene supermodel and CNTM judge, Yasmin Warsame, wore an exquisite vintage Thierry Mugler black peplum cocktail dress.

The Bill Blass and Valentino are available through Vintagecouture.com.

WEAR IT LIKE THIS: YSL LACE-UP CARGO DRESS - DAYTIME

This versatile YSL dress is just as fashionable for day as it is for night. Pair with some studded accessories and an over sized shopper handbag. Remember to wear sunscreen!

WEAR IT LIKE THIS: YSL LACE-UP CARGO DRESS

The summer is the best time to break out those cute dresses that have been collecting dust in your closet all winter. This YSL lace-up cargo dress is the perfect number for a night out. Paired with some bold jewels, a hip clutch, gladiator heels and red lips this is one outfit that is going to turn heads. Check back to see a daytime look for this outfit!

WEAR IT LIKE THIS: BURBERRY PRORSUM CHARTREUSE MINI

The summer is the best time to wear luxe fabrics in light colors. The acid yellow of this Burberry Prorsum mini is countered by the white leather jacket and warm brown leather accessories. Add some modern bling and retro shades and you are set for an afternoon of shopping in the city.

VINTAGE @ THE MET

The Costume Institute Gala at the Met is one of the places to see Runway and Couture Fashion in all its glory. However, those who are in the know venture into the realm of Vintage for a unique look and a statement above the rest that says, “I am fashionable and contemporary with a twist.” Let us raise a glass to lovely ladies in Vintage and remember, Fashion repeats itself!

GET THE LOOK: BALMAIN SHOULDER JACKET

Shoulder pads are back and not in the oversized 80’s way. This time around they are sculptural, almost “tennis-ball” like, and complimented by a cinched waist and exquisite tailoring. For both his Spring 2009 and Fall 2009 ready-to-wear collections, Christophe Decarnin of Balmain sent these exaggerated shoulders down his runway and launched the return of the shoulder pad. This John Galliano New Look Jacket creates the exact same silhouette and won’t break the bank.

RUNWAY FALL 2009 RTW: LOUIS VUITTON

Marc Jacobs for Louis Vuitton has been a successful partnership for several years now. Always one step ahead of the trends, Jacobs has created a collection with a gothic feel mixed with jewel tones and a deconstructed flair. The deep V necklines on the lacy tops and the exaggerated layering on the mini skirts and coats makes this a fun, flirty collection.

The Chanel ruffle blouse has a deep V neckline with ruffles that would work great in recreating this runway look and the YSL jewel toned top is the exact same shade as the fabulous ruffled coat shown on the runway.

RUNWAY FALL 2009 RTW: GIAMBATTISTA VALLI

For his 2009 Fall collection, Giambattista Valli was clearly inspired by the Yves Saint Laurent collections of the 70’s and 80’s. The full skirted gowns, the ruched and draped necklines, the vivid colors and prints all scream YSL. Valli commented that his collection was more inspired by Saint Laurent’s “lifestyle” as apposed to his actual fashion but the apparent influence flows through the entire runway show.

RUNWAY FALL 2009 RTW: STELLA McCARTNEY

For such a fabulous collection it is hard to believe that every single item that went down the runway is Vegan (except for a few of the models, perhaps). From the vegan legging booties to the silk slip dresses and the over-sized blazers, McCartney’s collection is wearable and lust-able.  I am dying to get my hands on the navy iridescent moto jacket and maybe a jumpsuit or two.

RUNWAY FALL 2009 RTW: EMANUEL UNGARO

The new Emanuel Ungaro collection by Esteban Cortazar has the same flirt and flare of the Ungaro collections if the 80’s. Beautifully printed cocktail dresses topped with cropped blazers and vivid colors mixed with muted tones makes Ungaro a cut above when it comes to sweet and sexy with out looking too made up. Every dress hugs the body is the most amazing way and the mixing of prints allows you to dress each item up or down. I especially love the colorful strappy sandals that finish every look.
