Bright colors, flowing fabrics and psychedelic prints were the main theme of Jonathan Saunders’ Spring 2009 runway show. From the formfitting gowns to the flirty skirts and military style jackets, Saunders’ collection is to die for. Known for his futurist design flair, Saunders graduated from Central Saint Martin’s in 2000 and had his first runway show in 2003. A constant in his designs, Saunders always thinks outside of the box.
Designing since 1987, Ann DeMeulemeester is well known for her organic and unusual take on modern fashion. Through the 80s, 90s and the new millennium, DeMeulemeester has marched to her own drummer and has stood out as a designing maverick. Her most recent collection for Spring 2009, which she showed at Paris fashion week, was full of her signature style. The free form dresses and extreme gladiator sandals were topped off with modern jewelry and even a few dapper suits for men. Once again, Ann’s creations are to die for and one of a kind.
Long after Jeanne Lanvin, her namesake clothing line continues to wow the fashion world thanks to the current designer, Alber Elbaz. The most recent collection has a little something for everyone. Classic LBDs, exotic printed party dresses, ladylike coatdresses and accessories to die for. Every single piece is extremely wearable and timeless. We just might have to invest is a few pieces…..
